Russia Is Struggling to Defend Its Own Capital || Peter Zeihan

Podcast · ~7 min · Listen · (gathered 2026-09-03)

  • Peter Zeihan argues that Russia is struggling to defend its own capital, Moscow, due to a strategic misallocation of air defense assets.
  • A leaked Moscow memo indicates that Russian air defenses are being concentrated specifically around the Kremlin.
  • This concentration leaves the broader Moscow region, including critical infrastructure like refineries, vulnerable to Ukrainian attacks, suggesting a prioritization of symbolic protection over wider national security.
