  • uv init now defaults to a src/-layout package structure instead of a flat main.py, wiring up a uv_build backend in pyproject.toml, a project.scripts entry, and uv run uv-init executing main() from src/uv_init/__init__.py.
  • A breaking change from 0.11.x’s default layout, illustrated with before/after diff screenshots comparing old and new project structure.
  • Willison says he’ll now adopt src-layout for his own projects, having previously stuck with flat layout mostly out of inertia; also wonders aloud when uv will reach 1.0.
