California Sea Lion, Brandt's Cormorant

Blog · Watch/Read · (gathered 2026-09-23)

  • Simon Willison documented a wildlife “Sighting” at Pillar Point Harbor, CA, on September 19th, 2026, primarily featuring a California Sea Lion and a Brandt’s Cormorant.
  • A key detail, “Morris the Northern Gannet,” was only noticed peeking from behind a sign after the photo was taken, indicating a hidden element in the observation.
  • This highlights how re-examining captured observations (like photographs) can reveal details that were initially overlooked during the live sighting.
