Seam Cutter

Blog · Watch/Read · (gathered 2026-10-29)

  • Simon Willison developed a new, highly specialized image cropping tool called “Seam Cutter.”
  • Seam Cutter allows users to create a horizontal or vertical cut across an image and then slide the two resulting sides relative to each other, effectively cropping out a section from the middle.
  • The tool was created to address the specific need of redacting irrelevant middle sections (e.g., prompts from transcripts) within long stitched screenshots, often generated using tools like “Tailor” on an iPhone.
