Quests

A quest tracks one open question, not a moving front. Where Topics accumulates dated entries indefinitely, a quest has an explicit terminus in view — the question can eventually be answered, parked, or retired.

Each cycle, new evidence is classified against the current answer — supporting, contradictory, or merely contextual — and the synthesis is rewritten, not appended to: the prior “Answer So Far” is snapshotted into history, and a fresh one is written incorporating everything learned to date. The evidence list grows; the answer itself always reads as current. This is the opposite direction from every other section here, which all append.

Each new synthesis is also assessed for significance — an incremental addition versus a real change to the answer — because the question that motivated a quest usually only warrants attention when something actually shifts.
